The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi talked to Ryan Whitney who said the plan is to start skating in a month with the hopes to play in December.
"Right now, it doesn't feel great," Whitney said. "But I've only been out of the (stabilizing walking boot) for about 10, 11 days. It's still pretty painful. This would be sooner than sometime in January which is when Whitney previously estimated he would return to the lineup.
But just as in previous instances, it may be better to take a longer recovery time than return too soon to risk more injury (and more time out).

It is better to wait. I've done it the other way. Trust me, it's better to wait.
