AMAZING Win for Pens (and benchmarks made for Crosby & Malkin)!!

Penguins - 4, Maple Leafs - 1

3 STAR selections: (1) Sidney Crosby; (2) Evgeni Malkin; and (3) Marc-Andre Fleury

Game Highlights:

  • Crosby earned his 300 points before reaching 100 goals during tonight's game in Period 3 (recorded 2 assists for a total of 201 assists in the 2nd period)
  • Malkin's assist on Crosby's 100th goal was his 200th point in his NHL career!!

OTHER Game Highlights: It appears that Malkin has caught on quite well to the best the English language has to offer!! After missing the goal twice towards the end of the 2nd period, I believe I saw his mouth form the words, "fuck me!" Which, I believe, was the best choice of words for the situation he was in -- AWESOME!!

Penguins coaches, members of the team’s management staff and team broadcasters will also wear lavender “Hockey Fights Cancer” commemorative ties to underscore the organization’s support of the league-wide cancer awareness program.

Ugh...tonight, more than ever, I HATE being away from Pittsburgh...I wasn't able to find a broadcast of the game online anywhere, so I had to settle for the Empty Netters liveblog and listening to Pens radio...I was so upset about getting to SEE Sid's 100th that I cried.

I'm so thrilled for him though, and for Geno too! And the for the Pens - they needed this win tonight and from what I could hear, they were playing like their good ol selves again :)

If Malkin learning english, is anything like my dad learing german, he should be right on track (laughs) the swearing is easiest.
