Crosby and Malkin Share Benchmark Game

Not only did Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin share a spot on the top line in yesterday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but they also shared individual benchmarks during the game as well.

No less miraculous than Crosby himself, all of his benchmarks came with each of the Penguins first three goals. Sam Kasan from the Pittsburgh Penguins webpage calling it a "milestone hat trick."

  1. he set up Dupuis for a goal (200th career assist);
  2. he assisted on Satan's goal (300-career points); and
  3. he ended his own drought by scoring his own goal (100th of his career)
Sharing in his accomplishments, Malkin assisted on Crosby's 100th career goal making it Malkin's 2ooth career point which seems so very fitting in light of it all.

“It’s probably good to get it all over with,” Crosby said. “Gino got his 200th tonight; sharing with someone feels good.”

"sharing with someone feels good.”

I couldn't agree more. Congrads, Sid. And Malkin also.
