Crosby's Grandmother BIG Contributor to his Goal-Scoring Ability!

Because she is not often credited, it's unknown to alot of us fans that Sidney's grandmother, Linda, played a huge role in his development as a goal-scorer early in his career.  During his first year playing organized hockey, Linda offered him a dollar for every goal he scored, but she was never expecting the payout to be as large as it was - Crosby scored 156 goals that season!!
She expected it would be like a little allowance at the end of the year but it didn't turn out that way," Crosby said.  "That was my first year plaing hockey.  I still can't believe that happened but its pretty funny."
That IS pretty funny!  Crosby set high standards even as a young kid - I suppose this is how people become great at what they do!

Crosby's grandmother, Linda, as well as his other grandmother, Katie, and sister, Taylor, are all in Pittsburgh this weekend for Crosby's home-opener tonight against the NJ Devils.  This will be their first time making the trip to Pittsburgh to see him play.

Whoa, they've never been to Pittsburgh. I'd have never guessed that.
