Rossi Reports on Penguins Reporting Day Exams

Not much for Rob Rossi to report on the first day of camp; however, he did say that there are no problems and all the players are "rested and ready to go" pointing out that this off-season was the shortest "in franchise history." NO news is GOOD news!

Rossi talked to a few players and here's a tidbit of what they had to say:

  • Defenseman Ryan Whitney is happy with his progress after having corrective foot surgery last August and feels that Kris Letang is ready to fill his spot on the first power-play unit.
  • Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury did not want to be reminded of the past season's loss to Detroit in the SCF and avoided TV and newspapers while at home in Quebec.
  • Defenseman Brooks Orpik said that the new players will have an easy time fitting in with the Penguins "core" and that he's not concerned with it (Rossi adding that Orpik's response makes him sound like "an ideal alternate captain candidate.")
