Penguins Training Camp (important info if you plan to attend)

The Pittsburgh Penguins training camp officially begins next Tuesday, September 16th with physicals, testing, and meetings. The first day of on-ice practice at the Mellon Arena begins the next day on Wednesday, September 17th at 9:00 AM. They remain at Mellon Arena for practice through Friday, September 19th, and these first three practices are open to the public at no charge, but are limited to practice, work-outs, and scrimmages from 9:00 - 12:30 PM (see schedule listed below). Various players will be on the ice at different times in 2 groups (A and B).

As a note, the Penguins will be allowed to carry one more than the usual 23 players on their roster for season-opener, two-game series against Ottawa in Sweden October 4th and 5th. General Manager, Ray Shero, expects to use the extra spot for a third goaltender, with John Curry the likely choice at this point.
