Summer Sticks Classic

[UPDATE]
Since posting this, Joe Starky and Rob Rossi posted an article at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on this golf outing. Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik and head coach Michel Therrien both participated in the golf game on Monday. Orpik said that coach Therrien almost hit him with the ball unintentionally (he made sure to add that since the relationship between the two has always been reported to be something more negative than it really is). He also added that they "got a good laugh out of it" and went on to say that his relationship with Therrien was never a factor in his ultimately deciding to re-sign with the Penguins.
"I don't know how much I gotta really say: I signed a six-year contract, and he signed a three-year contract, so obviously it wasn't that big of a hurdle. We have a good working relationship. I think we have a really good mutual respect for each other."
The 21st Annual Summer Sticks Classic was held Monday at the Sewickley Heights Golf Club.

Each threesome of golfers was be accompanied by a Penguins player or coach as they competed for tournament prizes. Proceeds benefit the team’s scholarship and Pen Pals programs.
