It's been dormant for a short time, but speculation begins again as The Buffalo News posts an article today reporting that,

Former Buffalo Sabre Matthew Barnaby is expected shortly to be named as Barry Melrose's replacement as ESPN's hockey analyst, The Buffalo News has learned.

No official announcement has been made, but "according to broadcasting sources," the announcement could be made within the next few days.
