How Do You Buy an Ice Rink?

Just ask the Aurora Ice Association (NY)!

According to EastAurora.org (first mentioned by Empty Netters in a post yesterday), the association has obtained the actual rink that Sidney and crew played on in this past season's Winter Classic game at the Ralph Wilson Stadium on New Year's Day against the Buffalo Sabres. Of course, it's not literally the ice they skated on but the tubing that was used for the game. The group is also looking into purchasing other "ice bowl" items such as the chiller, dasherboards, glass and zamboni.

This has been a labor of love for the residents of East Aurora and something that has been in the works for months. They were looking to provide a venue for the local kids to enjoy and hoping to open the doors on November 1st.
