LATE Pre-Game Notes

I apologize for being so late with this today!!

It seems some of the questions I asked earlier this morning have been answered (with the majority of it being good news)!!

SIDNEY CROSBY
Crosby will be in tonight's lineup despite recovering from an injury he appeared to suffer during the game against the Phoenix Coyotes last Thursday. He had an entire day to recover since the Penguins did not practice yesterday.

RUSLAN FEDOTENKO
Fedotenko left halfway through today's morning skate with an undisclosed injury and will be scratched from tonight's game. His status is "day-to-day."

PASCAL DUPUIS
Dupuis has been placed on injured reserve (IR) and this status is retroactive October 28th (against the San Jose Sharks).

JANNE PESONEN
FINALLY!! Pesonen gets called back up to the NHL. The "announcement" was made yesterday on the [WB] Penguins Insider. The Penguins officially announced the transaction today on the webpage. Pesonen will be playing on the 2nd line with Petr Sykora and Evgeni Malkin -- this, I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE!!

DARRYL SYDOR / MARK EATON
Sydor will once again be in the lineup tonight as Eaton will be a healthy scratch.

LINES
The Penguins webpage reports that the Pesonen - Malkin - Sykora line is the only one confirmed for tonight's game since Fedotenko's injury and Crosby's "go-ahead" for tonight's game came late, Therrien had to juggle lines at this morning's skate.

ALTERNATE CAPTAINS FOR NOVEMBER
Coach Therrien officially named Rob Scuderi and Hal Gill as alternate captains for the month of November today at the morning skate.
