A Replacement for RUUTU?

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that "Penguins sign forward to replace Ruutu".

The forward is Matt Cooke and the deal is for 2 years / $2.4 million.

Could Cooke make me, and the rest of the Pens nation, forget about the loss of Ruutu (possibly becoming one of my new favorites)? Can he really be an adequate replacement? If so, this could be a pivotal deal for Shero! The Pens need to keep their "edge" and a big part of that was lost when they didn't sign Jarkko Ruutu!

The Post-Gazette is crowning Cooke as "an accomplished agitator and penalty-killer," and are reporting:

• His addition will help to offset the departure of left winger Jarkko Ruutu, who signed with Ottawa and once was Cooke's teammate with the Canucks.
