1% From Waiting List Could Become Season Ticket Holders

Approximately 140 fans at the top of the Penguins Season Ticket Waiting List will have an opportunity to purchase season tickets for the 2008-2009 season. The list is currently over 2,100 and increases daily.

Team president, David Morehouse, announced today that 99% of current season ticket holders renewed tickets for this upcoming season.

There are a few changes in regard to purchasing tickets this season. Six-game mini-plans will only be offered to those currently on the waiting list; with no mention of the 12-game mini-plan, I'm assuming that it won't be offered this season at all. Mini-plans go on sale to those on the list on September 4th while tickets to individual games will go on sale to the general public on September 20th.

The Penguins will continue with their "Student Rush" promotion; however, they will only be offered for four games selected by the Pittsburgh organization. A total of 400 tickets will be set aside for both college and high school students for each of the four games at the cost of $20.

It seems as though the organization is trying to accomodate everyone so more fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets this season.
