Tyler Kennedy met Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley at the July 5th charity fundraiser and their name, aside from the spelling, isn't the only thing these two have in common. Kenadie is a Soo Greyhound hockey fan. The Soo Greyhounds happen to be the OHL team Tyler Kennedy was the Captain of before moving on to the NHL to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kenadie's Uncle Dave introduced them to each other (pictured below). I'm sure it's a meeting BOTH Kenadie AND Kennedy will not soon forget!
MORE ABOUT KENADIE JOURDIN-BROMLEY:
Five-year-old Kenadie has a genetic condition called primordial dwarfism and is known around the world as "the littlest angel." Currently, she weighs only around 13 pounds and is approximately 30 inches tall which makes her the smallest girl in the world! Primordial dwarfism is believed to affect approximately 100 people (she is 1 of the 2 in Canada) which is why she has been featured on a number of shows like ABC Primetime Medical Mysteries and TLC's TV Special, The Smallest People in the World, as well as being the topic of several articles like those in Woman's Day magazine ("Our real-life Thumbelina") and on TheRecord.com ("A small miracle").
As mentioned above, Kenadie is a fan of the Soo Greyhounds; and it seems the Greyhounds are as big a fan of hers as she is of theirs. TheRecord.com's article, "A small miracle," includes a brief illustration of the team's special affection towards Kenadie telling of a time when the team captain, Dustin Jeffrey, and members of the team protested when Kenadie was asked to leave the ice during a family skate because she was wearing boots. Kenadie's size-1 feet were too small for a pair of skates to fit her.
You can learn more about Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley and primordial dwarfism on her official webpage, "Meet Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley."
