Instead of posting an entry for each thing I missed, I decided to give you a rundown in one post (I'm a BIG fan of "bullets" as you can tell from many of my entries)!
- Penguins officially sign Marc-Andre Fleury to 7 years / $35 million
- Jagr leaves the NHL to play for Russian team - the Penguins showed alot of interest in having Jagr return to Pittsburgh; however, in the end he decided to sign with Avangard Omsk of the Continental Hockey League (the team he played for during the NHL lockout). It's believed that Jagr agreed to 2 years plus the option for a 3rd / $7 million (tax free) which is the equivalent to $11 million in the NHL.
- Pittsburgh signs Miroslav Satan for 1 year / $3.5 million and Ruslan Fedotenko for 1 year / $2.5 million
- Laraque signs with the Montreal Canadiens
- Brendan Shannahan interested in Pittsburgh - it's been reported that Shannahan contacted Shero and expressed his interest in playing for Pittsburgh, but it doesn't appear that RS shares his interest in signing him (however, since then, it's rumored that Sidney may be pushing for the Pens to give him more of a look).
- Pens begin preliminary talks with Staal - speculation has the offer somewhere around 4 years / $13.5 million
- Penguins sign Janne Pesonen - forward from Finland; not much known about him, but from what little I've found, he seems to be a gritty player (which the Pens could use more of right about now)
