Since the last entry of Talbot's blog, the news of an impending shoulder surgery has been lingering over the internet. Talbot talked as though he would undergo the surgery towards the end of June; however, news of the surgery has resurfaced with new speculation.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today, he has not yet had that surgery and will have it sometime in the future.

It's not clear which shoulder is injured or whether he might miss the start of the 2009-10 season when the Penguins begin defense of the Cup title.
WTAE News is reporting that a spokeswoman for the Pens confirmed that Talbot will undergo surgery and that the team will give an update on his status afterwards. They also mention a Radio Canada interview (READ FOR YOURSELF) that announced that the recovery from the surgery will keep him from the first month of the 2009-2010 season, but I can't find any other sources to support this (and the PPG report that it's not clear); however, when I translate the transcript, there doesn't seem to be any mention of this.
If there are any new "developments" on this, I'll be sure to post them here!
