Penguins Sign Goaltender

The Penguins have announced that they've signed goaltender Brent Johnson to a one-year contract.

Johnson, 32, played 21 games with the Washington Capitals, finishing with a record of 12-6-2 during the 2008-09 season. The veteran goaltender recorded a .908 save percentage along with a 2.81 goals-against average.

He sounds like he could make a good backup. I would have love to have seen Manny Fernandez with the Pens, but he's probably asking on the high side of things. Can't wait to see the new guy in action! (though I do still miss Ty)

@Cat - I would love for Curry to come up as back-up for next season; I've heard that their signing a veteran goalie is to give him some competition. The kid is GOOD!!! I miss Ty too!
