Very Little Information on Crosby's Injury

Paul Steigerwald made an appearance on yesterday's Savran on Sportsbeat via telephone from St. Louis.

Although it's unknown ("undisclosed," if you will) as to what injury Sidney Crosby is suffering with, Steigerwald did tell Stan Savran that he is wearing a wrap around his mid-section, so he's not sure if the injury involves his ribs or back but it's definitely some type of upper-body injury. There was no practice yesterday, but they should know more after the morning skate today.

ABOUT THE NHL'S NEW INJURY DISCLOSURE POLICY
(nformation obtained from article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)

Under the new policy, teams only are required to "disclose that a player is expected to miss a game due to injury, or will not return to a game following an injury."

The NHL is no longer required to go into detail about a player's injury. The change in policy comes after the general managers unanimously voted in June to pass the injury disclosure policy.

"The NHLPA supports the new injury disclosure policy as it helps protect the health and safety of our membership." NHLPA spokesman Jonathan Weatherdon said.
