Say 'Goodbye' to Alyonka

I wasn't aware of this until a few days ago, but it looks like the star of The Penguins Show and the girl who brought us video of her cooking with Malkin is leaving the Penguins organization. I, for one, am a little saddened by the news and, to be honest, I was a little leary of her when she first came onto the scene. At that time, I didn't realize her hockey background, but after seeing her over and over again at the games we'd go to at the Igloo and watching a few of her shows on PensTV, I can say that she won me over!!

I follow her on Twitter as well as Facebook, so I thought it was odd that she would mention her being at home or with her family long after Christmas vacation and then the last game we went to, she wasn't there (it was only Katie O'), so it made me curious to know what was going on. So I watched her YouTube video diary that she posted on January 7th. I'm posting it here in case some of you have been wondering and are interested in knowing the story like I was (no "juicy details" or anything like that, but at least you get it from her and a little bit of the 'why').

I really wish her the best. She brought a lot of good to Pittsburgh, especially with the Penguins organization (as far as programming and getting us "behind the scenes" of the team) which I genuinely appreciate. I know alot of fans, not just me, will miss her smiling face and awesome personality (you can tell just how genuine she is!).
