Fleury Out; CURRY IN, BABY!!

I am really psyched that John Curry will be getting a start while he's up here!!! UNFORTUNATELY, the only reason he's getting the chance is because Fleury has a fractured finger.

When I found out, my friend and John were here so I said, "remember when we were laughing because Fleury went over to the bench for a band-aid? Well, it turns out he has a fractured finger."

I'm assuming that's around the time it happened. He played the rest of the game with it like that (his left ring finger). AMAZING, isn't it? He was a major part of the win on Thursday with some great saves and it turns out he did it all while hurt!!! Although, he didn't participate in practice today.

Earlier, when it was announced, it wasn't certain if Fleury would play in tomorrow, be a back-up, or scratched entirely. According to tonight's KDKA Nightly Sports Call, Fleury will be scratched, Curry will start and the Baby Pen's back-up goalie, Brad Thiessen, will be called up to back him up.

It's also important to note that Brent Johnson has been placed on IR for an "undisclosed injury" (actually, nothing was really ever reported on this aside from the fact that Curry was recalled last Thursday leading us to assume Johnson was sick or hurt). I would imagine that's to make enough room to recall Thiessen.
