Off-Day Notes

According to the Penguins webpage:

• Today was scheduled as a true "off-day," but with their recent struggles they decided to take the day to work (it lasted until around 1:30 PM which is one of the longer practices)
  

  I don’t think anyone thought we were going to get a day off just because it was on the schedule after losing five (games) in a row, especially after the Buffalo game when we were up 3-0 and then the game (Sunday).

• Gonchar was the only player that didn't participate in today's practice, but he did make a "media appearance" on NHL Live today (1 PM); you can probably catch a rebroadcast of it sometime this evening (6 PM or so) on the Penguins HD2 radio station
  
• Rupp took a puck to the mouth and left practice early with a towel on his mouth (he's trying to one-up Staal!)
  
• The Penguins practiced in their baby blue practice gear today as they're schedule to wear their alternate jerseys for tomorrow's game against Atlanta
