Former Penguins Bourque, Loney, Wregget, and Kachowski to Participate in Exhibition Hockey Game

The hockey community in Youngstown, OH is planning a charity fundraiser scheduled for August 24th to benefit Jason Baird and his family.

Jason Baird is a former Youngstown Steelhound who currently works for a landscaping company in Austintown. On July 17th, Baird was on a landscaping job riding a lawnmower when it exploded leaving him severely burned (over 60% of his body) when the lawnmower exploded who was severely burn in a lawn mowing accident on July 17th. He is recovering at the Akron Children's Hospital Burn Center.

“This is a benefit for a family in need and this family needs all the support we can give them,” said Kaminski, who is being assisted and supported by the SteelHounds’ Booster Club, headed by president Cindy Piedra of Boardman.
The main event is the exhibition hockey game to be played at 3:00 pm by current and former NHL players, former Steelhounds, and minor league players. A few of the NHL players that have committed to playing are former Pittsburgh Penguins - Phil Bourque, Troy Loney, Ken Wregget, and Mark Kachowski. Another celebrity appearance is to be made by star of the classic hit movie "Slapshot," Dave Hanson (who played on of the three infamous "Hanson Brothers" in the movie).
