Penguins Alumni to Play 18 for 4 Charities

The 11th Annual Penguins Alumni Charity Classic will be held this year on Monday, August 11th at the Valley Brook Country Club in McMurry, PA. A team of four golfers will be accompanied by one former Penguin taking part in this year's Classic who includes Mario Lemieux, Bryan Trottier, Phil Bourque, Pierre Larouche, Gary Rissling, Al McDonough, Denis Herron, Mitch Lamoureux, Dennis Owchar and Ed Gilbert.

“It will be a wonderful time for reminiscing with old teammates while assisting a variety of children’s charities,” stated Penguins Alumni Association President Warren Young. “We have received tremendous support from the community, and we are all looking forward to a great event.”
Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Heart Camp, Achieva, The Mario Lemieux Foundation and the Western PA School for the Deaf. To date, this event has raised $250,000 benefiting local children's charities. Teams will compete in the scramble-style tournament for prizes.

The event also includes a cocktail reception, dinner and silent & live auctions.
