Post-Practice News (Injury Update)

This morning's practice was optional for the Penguins.

SERGEI GONCHAR
As posted early this morning, Gonchar participated in his first practice with the team and wore a red "no contact" practice jersey. This is his first time practicing with the team since injuring his shoulder in a pre-season game back in September.

The other players injured in yesterday's game against the Washington Capitals (Rob Scuderi, Max Talbot, and Sidney Crosby) did not participate this morning.

SIDNEY CROSBY
The Penguins webpage recently posted that Crosby is "day-to-day" with a "lower body injury" and that it's uncertain whether he will play or not this Friday against the Anaheim Ducks; Crosby reported that he will test it out on Friday afternoon and make a decision then (game-time decision).

PLAYERS WHO PARTICIPATED:
Forwards - Cooke, Bissonnette, Jeffrey, Minard, Kennedy, Godard; defensemen - Boucher, Eaton, Gill, Whitney, Gonchar, Goligoski, Orpik; and goaltenders - Sabourin and Fleury
