The Penguins opened their practice yesterday to 8,100 kids from area schools. The kids were from 63 area schools and arrived on 250 buses!
The event was in coordination with the Penguins commitment to education and as a way to reach out to kids.

WTF mate?! How come I never got to do this when I was in school?! Life is so unfair sometimes...
Additionally, I think it's just a little bit amusing that they were promoting staying in school and the importance of education by pulling the students out of school to go watch a hockey practice - not that I object at all (and I'm a certified teacher), but it still seems a little ironic.
