On this Date in Pittsburgh Penguins History

2000
The Penguins and Flyers played the third longest game in NHL history (five-overtimes, 152:01 minutes); the Flyers won, 2-1, on Keith Primeau's goal. Penguins goaltender Ron Tugnutt made a team-high of 70 saves in that game.

1999
The Penguins defeated the New Jersey Devils in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals by a score of 4-2.

1996
The Penguins surrendered a playoff team high 61 shots on goal in regulation against the Florida Panthers.

1993
Tom Barrasso earned his fourth post-season shutout after he stopped 26 shots to defeat the New York Islanders in Game 2 of the Patrick Division Finals, 3-0 (the Islanders ended up winning the series in seven games).
