It WASN'T ME!!

The BIG news yesterday afternoon was the death threat made on Alexander Ovechkin. It turned out to be a 17-year-old from Chambersburg, PA who has been interviewed by Pittsburgh Police but not charged.

It's been reported that the teenager made the following threat on the Penguins webpage messageboard (on Wednesday):

"I'm killing Ovechkin. I'm going to jail. I don't care anymore."
The Caps released the following statement:

"We became aware of an inappropriate comment on a message board and referred it to appropriate authorities. We appreciate their diligence and have every confidence in our club's safety."
And the network's website posted this following statement from the Penguins:

"We were notified of the message and immediately turned over all information to the authorities."
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, there was no indication that the teenager was in Pittsburgh for Wednesday's game or that he will be there today for the game and the investigation has been turned over to the state police computer crime task force.

Come on now, Ovi's an asshole, but this is crossing the line (and does not represent the Penguins fan base by any means -- we LOVE our team, but we ARE NOT hostile!)!!

As much as I hate AO make death threats is completely out of line.
