"Lemieux threatens to throw Crosby out of house"

Yes, you probably had the same reaction I did when I read that headline and even after I read the article!!

But I believe what I stumbled upon on The National Sports Review was a work of satire* by Bob Birge who, it says, is a "veteran sportswriter with 25 years of experience in the New York metropolitan area who loves the New York Yankees, New York Rangers and Notre Dame football."

This article is a "gem" and sums up pretty much every speculation that one has ever had about Crosby's residence at the Lemieux house, so read it in the manner it was written in (or so I believe) - as a true piece of satire*.

Thanks for the laugh, Bob (and nice try at shaking up the hockey world)!

*Sidenote: Satire, as defined, is a technique of writing which basically ridicules its subjects in a way that is supposed to be funny and witty. For Merriam-Webster's definition of satire, CLICK HERE (also see "wit").
