Gonchar Ahead of Schedule; Fedotenko Returning Soon

When Gonchar was first injured and underwent surgery to repair his shoulder, it was reported that his rehabilitation would keep him out of the lineup for four to six months; however, it seems he is ahead of schedule according to Coach Therrien.

"It's going to be nice to see Gonchar back," coach Michel Therrien said after the team's morning skate at Air Canada Centre in preparation for the game last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"He's about three weeks away."

Three weeks would have him returning around the end of February which probably won't be a day too soon.

Also on / ahead of schedule is Fedotenko who was originally to miss four to six weeks after breaking his hand after punching Colby Armstrong during a game against the Atlant Thrasher.

Therrien said winger Ruslan Fedotenko "should be back pretty soon, too."
