The Penguins announced yesterday that they cut their active roster down to 21 players.
They placed Ryan Bayda (F), Paul Bissonnette (F), Chris Conner (F), Deryk Engelland (D), and Nate Guenin (D) on waivers with the intention of assigning them to Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre / Scranton while Max Talbot (F), Mark Letestu (F), and Ben Lovejoy (D) are on the injured reserve (IR) list.
All NHL teams must submit their 23-man active rosters to the league by 3:00 PM today.
