FSN to Televise 70 Penguins Games (in HD)

Yesterday, FSN announced that they will be broadcasting a minimum of 70 games during the upcoming Penguins 2009-2010 season beginning with the first home game on October 2nd against the NY Rangers. Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey return as the announcer and color-analyst for the games on FSN. They will begin with pregame at 6:30 PM hosted by Stan Savran and post-game coverage with Rob King and Jay Caufield.
"When the defending Stanley Cup Champions raise the banner on October 2 on FSN it will be a historic night. Not only will we celebrate the franchise's third Cup, but the game will launch the first season during which FSN Pittsburgh will deliver all 70 of the Penguins games in HD,” said FSN Senior Vice President & General Manager Ted Black.
In addition to televising the games, they plan to continue broadcasting special Penguins programming including the return of "Penguins Instant Replay" and "Penguins Rewind." Other programs will include:
  • Spotlight: Penguins Preview 09’ (debuts Monday, September 28th at 7:00 PM) followed by
  • The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration '09 (at 7:30 PM)
And the following programs which are set to air in October / November:
  • In My Own Words: Sidney Crosby, Season IV
  • The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration ’91
  • The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration ’92
