Another Player Cut

The Penguins announced today that they re-assigned goaltender John Curry to their AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins. With Pittsburgh signing veteran goalie, Johnson, it was pretty much decided that Curry's chance wouldn't be coming this season (unless Johnson is injured).

I really, REALLY like Curry and hope that he gets his chance in the NHL soon (with the Penguins preferrably!)!!!

This leaves Pittsburgh with five additional players to cut before Wednesday to get their roster down to 23.

Not surprising, but I am with you, I really, really like Curry, as well, and I think he has great potential! Let's hope that someday the NHL pens will agree with our wisdom :)

I wasn't digging on Curry at all. I don't know what it is but I just felt like yelling at the tv every time he let one go through. I am glad he is going back down - get some more time on the ice, more practice, more confidence then come back and play.
