The New York Rangers just selected Pittsburgh-native (East Palestine, OH/Coraopolis) J.T. Miller in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (15th overall).
CONGRATULATIONS J.T.!! Pittsburgh pride!!
As a sidenote, RJ Umberger was selected 16th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (per the Penguins webpage, Miller is the first Pittsburgh-area player picked in Round 1 since Umberger).
