On this Date in Pittsburgh Penguins History

2009
Penguins forced a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup final by winning over Detroit by a score of 2-1 (which ultimately led to their winning the Stanley Cup on June 12, 2009)

1984
Penguins drafted Mario Lemieux, Doug Bodger and Roger Belanger in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft making it the only time in the organization's history that they selected more than one player in the first round (and it was the first time the Penguins chose first overall)
