Maxime Talbot scored twice and Sergei Gonchar's powerplay goal in the third period proved to be the winner as the Pens took Game 3 in the Stanley Cup Final from the Detroit Red Wings, 4-2. Detroit led the series, 2-1.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette hockey writer Dave Molinari was honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame with the Elmer Ferguson Award
