According to the Penguins webpage, it was announced today that Sidney Crosby will be one of 12,000 athletes to carry the Olympic Torch across Canada in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Relay which begins on October 30th in Victoria, BC. Crosby's portion of the relay is on November 18th in Nova Scotia. The torch was officially lit to begin it's journey on October 22nd in Greece where the relay is currently underway.
“I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to carry the Olympic Flame in my home province of Nova Scotia,” said Crosby. “The torch relay will pass through so many communities and hands on the way to Vancouver and I’m privileged to be part of that special group as the Olympic Flame makes its way to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Games.”
