- Mark Eaton didn't practice with the Penguins today (undisclosed injury) and his status is unknown for tomorrow's game against the Ottawa Senators, but it doesn't look promising.
He’s probably out seven days. We will wait and see how he responds to treatment. It’s not a serious injury. It’s going to be about a week or so. - HC Dan Bylsma
- Jordan Staal was on the ice today with his teammates after suffering a "nose laceration" in last night's game which isn't so remarkable when you consider that he returned to the game donning a full-face shield to continue playing in the third period (pictures from the Penguins webpage).

Seeing Staal writhing in pain and spewing blood, I thought the injury was much more serious. I often wonder why all those guys don't wear face shields.
In any case, I'm thankful he's okay.
That hit to Staal hurt to watch. We kept reminding ourselves that there are lots of little blood vessels in the head and facial injuries bleed a *lot*. Looks like Staal will be okay, sooner rather than later. (The fact that he came back out was defo a good sign, too.) Thanks for the update. I'm glad Eaton will be back soon, too.
