Pens Acquire Goalie through Trade with Anaheim

The Penguins announced on their webpage earlier this afternoon that they made a trade with the Anaheim Ducks for goalie Mattias Modig in exchange for a 2010 sixth-round draft pick.  Pittsburgh and Modig agreed to the terms of a two-year entry level contract.

Modig played the last four seasons in the Swedish Elite League for his hometown team Lulea HF and was drafted by the Ducks in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (121st overall).

With today's trade with Anaheim for Modig, the Penguins have a first-, third-, fourth-, (2) sixth-, and a seventh-round draft picks remaining.
