The Penguins webpage is reporting on today being the last day for the Penguins orgnaization and that the playersare there to clean out their lockers and meet with the coaching staff for the last time this season (and the last time in the Mellon Arena - sad to think!)!! It makes me think of school ending for the summer when you move on to the next grade and leave your friends to enjoy your summer with family (not so regimented of a schedule). However, unlike leaving school for the summer, I think its always bittersweet for the team as well as the fans, especially this season since we'll be leaving one home and moving into another next season ...
The day is also the final goodbye for the team. It is the last time that this group will be together ever. With free agency and other dynamics, next year's team will not resemble this year's squad. So this group that battled side by side for eight months will shake hands and part ways.
