  • Interesting TIDBITS: Antropov to Rangers and Carcillo to Philly
  • TSN reports that the Islanders traded forward Bill Guerin to Pittsburgh for a conditional draft pick
    The draft pick that Pittsburgh gives up will start as a fifth-round pick. If Pittsburgh makes the playoffs, it increases to a fourth-rounder. If they get to the second round, it becomes to a third round pick.
  • Interesting TIDBIT: TSN speculates that Gary Roberts will retire
  • BUZZ UPDATE: Pittsburgh made offers to Guerin and Ruutu
  • BUZZ: Pittsburgh looking into Guerin or Ruutu (when will this ever end?!)!!!
  • Interesting TIDBIT: Boston acquires Mark Recchi from TB
  • Caputi update: the reassignment is due to disciplinary reasons (violation of team rules; supposedly 2nd time this year)
    "The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have disciplined four players for a violation of team rules. Defenseman Jon D'Aversa and forward Luca Caputi have been assigned to Wheeling of the East Coast Hockey League for the immediate future. Forwards Chris Minard and Aaron Boogaard will sit out tonight's game against the Binghamton Senators. No further comment will be made at this time."

  • there are several sites reporting that the Penguins claimed Craig Adams from waivers, but I haven't been able to confirm this; CONFIRMATION - Pens claimed Adams
  • Bill Thomas is being reassigned to WB / S
  • 12:00 PM - Satan has cleared waivers (according to the Penguins webpage deadline blog and Hockeybuzz)
  • 11:49 AM - Penguins acquire defenseman Andy Wozniewski from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenseman Danny Richmond (minor league deal)
