Yesterday the LA Kings announced that they signed former Pittsburgh Penguin Alex Ponikarovski to a one-year contract woth $3,200,000 which is a pretty decent raise from last season's contract with the Penguins ($2,500,000 / one-year). It was a similar situation with Rob Scuderi who signed with the Kings and garnered a pretty hefty raise prior to the 2009-2010 season (he's currently making $3,400,00 / season).I was seriously hoping that Poni would work out with the Pens ... he was once a great player and I'm not so sure if its been a matter of "fit" or being past his prime ... for LA's sake, let's hope they're the right "fit!"
