Penguins 2011 First Round Draft Pick

Pittsburgh has selected defenseman Joe Morrow in the first round of this year's draft.  I am quite confused right now since I don't think they need any more d-men and are lacking wingers (and they passed on Pittsburgh-native Saad).

Well, that's why Shero is there and I'm here!! 

And I've just been "schooled" -- regardless of what you need, you "still draft BPA = great asset!" (THANK YOU @ChrisRalphTHW!  I guess I understand, but don't necessarily agree ... right now I'm just a little confused).

BTW - BPA = "best player available"
