Andy Moog of the Montreal Canadiens shut out the Penguins 3-0; Pittsburgh was eliminated in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in six games.

1996
The Penguins defeated the New York Rangers, 4-3, in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals (Pittsburgh won the series in five games).

1995
Jaromir Jagr records one assist against Florida to win the 1995 NHL Scoring Title and becomes the first European-trained player to win the Art Ross Trophy.

Ron Francis won the NHL’s plus/minus award with a plus 30 rating.

1992
