TIOPS is reporting that Pittsburgh is still negotiating with Brooks Orpik and may be willing to extend the offer to 6 years instead of 5.
Hope remains.
Pittsburgh is also still chasing after Hossa, and expect to have a decision from him soon. Hossa's preference is Detroit; however, they offered the lowest bid. Vancouver is said to have made the offer of 7 years / $63 million. Pittsburgh remains "in the sweepstakes" according to TIOPS.
