Good as GONE

In a recent CHIPPED ICE blog post, Rob Rossi disclosed that after speaking with Georges Laraque, he said that he will not be resigning with the Penguins.
  • "But they’ve signed (forward Eric) Godard. He’s a better fit for the cap.”
Financial details of Godard’s three-year contract are not known. Some Internet reports have the deal totaling $1.65 million
    .
  • "It’s confirmed that I’m not coming back,” Laraque said. “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what’s going on in Pittsburgh, and none of us can be offended. I’m not offended.
  • “They have the young core and they’re trying to keep it together, and that’s going to leave them with cap issues. It’s a business decision with all of us.
