THANKS to all of you who were kind enough to think of emailing it (or a link) to me!!
This is Cole Harbour.
"It was crazy seeing people outside in suits and ties trying to push a bus," Fleury said. "I just put my big biceps on the bus, and it didn't take long after that."THIS is one of the MANY, MANY reasons that the Penguins organization is loved by so many!! Their sense of humor and the way they poke fun and joke around with each other is similar to that of a family and is nothing short of special!
Cooke interpreted the situation differently. "I'm sure his intentions were good," Cooke said. "But I'm not sure he even touched the bus."
"I'll make myself available," he said.MAINTENANCE DAY
"(Monday) was another step in battle level," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "Competitions one-on-one, he did some battling in the corner. ... It looked like he was 100 percent in practice, so we’ll see how he responds."
"It's about testing it out and making sure it can deal with the physical play and the skating," he said. "I've tested it out a lot the last three days and it's held up well. It feels good. I feel like I'm ready to go. I feel like I'm ready to get back into the full swing and play a full schedule. If it's up to me, I'd say I'm ready for back-to-backs. But a lot of times it's not up to me."
PENS BATTLE THE WEATHER
The team hit a little snag on their way to Buffalo yesterday. Their bus was only a few blocks from the hotel and it got stuck in the snow-covered streets. The coaching and support staff actually got out and pushed from the rear of the bus to get the wheels moving again and the Penguins webpage posted pics to prove it (what a great bunch of guys!)!!

"The announcement of the men's hockey roster for Vancouver 2010 will be a galvanizing moment for all Canadians to share and experience together," said Keith Pelley, President, Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
TEAM BELARUS (announcement made December 23rd)
Zakharov issued a warning to these 23 players on the BIHA website. "It does not mean that those hockey players that are on this list definitely go to Vancouver. So it is not worth it to relax. For others, who did not get to this part, let this turn of events be an additional incentive to improve their game. The final composition, we will announce in February."
Henrik Lundqvist (NY Rangers)
Jonas Gustavsson (Toronto Maple Leafs)
Stefan Liv(Jonkopin, SEL)
It feels fine. The knee I don’t really consider it an issue right now. It is just getting the rust off from not skating for a week. I think yesterday and today have gone a long way in doing that. I look forward to getting a little more physical in practice tomorrow and testing it that way. It feels pretty good.JORDAN STAAL
Ottawa Injury / Line Info
“It shows that he’s a warrior and he’ll do anything to win,” Tyler Kennedy said. [another player on the team possessing TONS of grit and knows of what he speaks!]I am continually impressed with Staal and the steady progression in his level of play (and to this day feel that it was a good move to sign him just as I did the day it happened). He's big and is gradually learning to use his size to his advantage, but when I saw him skate back onto the ice with the rest of the Pens before the start of the third period last Monday night, I was truly impressed along with everyone else in that arena!
He’s probably out seven days. We will wait and see how he responds to treatment. It’s not a serious injury. It’s going to be about a week or so. - HC Dan Bylsma
"I don't get nervous, but (tonight) I was a little nervous," he said after stamping this performance with a glove save on Penguins center Evgeni Malkin with 42 seconds remaining."Being a hockey fan (and not just a Penguins fan), I guess that's one thing to be thankful for about being at the game last night -- I can say I was there for that particular accomplishment of his.
"Mark Eaton will not be in the lineup tonight. He'll be evaluated by our doctors today. It's not long term at this point but we still need our doctors to take a look at him."
Having fun is what it's all about, isn't it? I mean, I have a Timbits calendar with a quote from Crosby saying, "my first goal was having fun."
I honestly think that's part of the reason why the Penguins are such a successful, dominant, and unstoppable team - FUN (on and off the ice).
The biggest fun-seeker has got to be our star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury (everyone knows what a cut-up he is!)!! And this is just one example of that (from the PPG):
The Penguins often end practice with a shootout, which serves a purpose as a drill but also usually provides some fun.Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who sometimes gets a little silly, really put on a show with unconventional moves as players bore down on him.
A few times, he did a spin. [HAha] He stopped defenseman Sergei Gonchar after one of those. [WOW!!] Other times, he did a couple of quick pushups. [WHAT?!!]
Once, he turned his back to defenseman Mark Eaton and, looking over his shoulder, still made a stick save. [WTF?!!!! Are there any MAF-doubters now?]
"I am glad I went," Bylsma said. "I enjoyed it. KISS was not a band I was allowed to like when I was a young teenager and before that. I felt liberated last night."
After Kiss finished their song "Detroit Rock City," the crowd booed for their displeasure of the Red Wings. Bylsma was asked A) if Kiss should have played the song and B) if he liked the fact that Pittsburghers booed.
"We were commenting on the fact of whether they should have played it or not. They should have and yes I did."
"It was a stinger type of thing," Guerin said. "It goes away. Its fine. I just wanted to get my skate off and get some ice on it."[UPDATE] According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Dan Bylsma said he is "preparing like (winger Bill Guerin) is playing" for the Penguins tonight against the Flyers at Philadelphia.
"I realize this is an individual award, but without the effort of our team we wouldn't have won the Stanley Cup and the year would not have been as special as it turned out to be," Crosby said in a statement released before Tuesday night's home game against the Philadelphia Flyers in PittsburghAfterwards Crosby shared some of the award's history with his teammates and them "being awed by the fact he'd been named (Canada's) athlete of the year," Hepburn said. "You could tell, for him, it was a really significant thing."
The trophy is housed in Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.
... Staal was able to joke about the play after.
“I took it in my stomach,” Staal said. “Another great shot by Geno. I was just hoping it was going to bounce off me to Sid but it kind of stuck there. I guess I have been eating too much junk lately.
“I’m fine. It was a stinger and went away after a few minutes.”
"He was not feeling well," Bylsma said. "It's not injury related. He's just ill. He was sick (Sunday) night and this is a stay away from the rink. He should be better."[UPDATE] LINE COMBINATIONS (projected)
Blair Betts (F), separated right shoulder - out 1-2 weeks (has missed last 10 games)
Simon Gagne (F), underwent surgery - out 1-3 weeks (missed the last 21 games)
Darroll Powe (F), strained shoulder - out 1-2 weeks (missed the last 11 games)
Braydon Coburn (D), ankle injury - listed as day-to-day (but has not missed any games)
Ray Emery (G), abdomen injury; surgery - out 6 weeks (missed the last 3 games)
He is not expected to wear the mask anytime soon, as it may be reserved for a Canada-themed paint job if, as expected, Fleury is named to the Canadian men's Olympic ice hockey squad later this month.Fleury was trying out a new goalie mask yesterday at practice. It's looks odd because it's completely white without any painted designs on it.
“This is proof that you can do whatever you want,” said McNamara as he walked through the front door of his home with the Stanley Cup in his hands.
RETURN OF GOLIGOSKI
the Penguins webpage recently reported that Alex Goligoski WILL return and be in tonight's lineup against the Canadiens (the Pens are almost back to 100%)!!
LINE COMBINATIONS (projected)
Talbot-Crosby-Guerin (although Rupp has spent some ice time here and it was also mentioned that Dupuis was seen on the line during morning skate as well)

“Tis the season so we are in the Christmas spirit here,” Sidney Crosby said. “I am sure all of the kids here are thinking about Christmas so we are bringing our Christmas cheer.”
"I'm in," Crosby said. "I've had a good couple days of rest and got it worked on. There's no more pain. That's all I really wanted to get rid of. I can deal with it right now."[UPDATE]
